A vegetal waste composting station will appear in Chisinau. A relevant project was designed by the Public Amenities Division and is to be approved, head of the Division’s Cleanup Section Vasile Efros stated in the program “Expertise hour” on Jurnal TV channel, IPN reports.

According to Vasile Efros, this year the Public Amenities Division has been allotted six hectares of land for building a vegetal waste composting station there. “This is the only solution. We once again showed that the current method of storage by covering branches and other vegetal waste is no longer efficient,” stated Vasile Efros.

The composting station will be outfitted with three pieces of equipotent that will cost up to €800,000. “We hope to get a grant from an association that deals with waste composting in a region in France and will make sure that all the vegetal waste goes through a chopping process and becomes homogenous,” added the functionary.

In connection with the fire at a dry leaves and branches storage place in Buiucani district of Chisinau, Vasile Efros said the municipal Green Areas Association should change its management policy. “The authorities should work out a strategy in this regard and should allocate more money. Not enough money has been invested in the equipment of those from the Green Areas Association,” he stated.

A large fire started at the dry leaves and branches storage place in Buiucani in the evening of July 9. According to the preliminary data of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, the flames covered 3 ha of the area of 5 ha were branches are stored. The cause of fire is yet to be found out.
