The state property continues to be managed by dubious persons who in the past formed part of the company of former Democratic leader Vladimir Plahotniuc and meanwhile became people close to President Igor Dodon. Deputy Parliament Speaker Alexandru Suslari noted the schemes implemented at the scrap metal company “Metalferos” continue and the money made there will be used in the election campaign of President Dodon, IPN reports.
“The current Government was appointed not to reduce the schemes, but to multiply them. The schemes at “Metalferos” continue to be used and the money will go to finance the campaign of Igor Dodon. They say that Vladimir Andronache, who was close to Vladimir Plahotniuc, is now in the circles of Igor Dodon and manages not only “Metalferos”, but also other schemes. I have questions as to what is happening to Moldova’s property,” Alexandru Suslari stated in the program “Emphasis on Today” on TVR Moldova channel.
Former minister of finance Veaceslav Negruța also sounded the alarm about the concession and privatization operations performed in Moldova, in particular in electoral and pre-electoral years.
“I want to remind that the most famous privatization operations in the Republic of Moldova were performed in electoral years. In 2008, before the elections of 2009, Codru Hotel and other facilities were denationalized. Who was the chief there? The name of Igor Dodon appears again. In 2014, we witnessed those famous concessions and the loss of assets by the state and Banca de Economii. In 2019, we had elections. In 2018, the Press House, the canteen and others were sold,” stated Veaceslav Negruța.
According to him, President Dodon knows very well which of the state assets are in a bad state. “That sudden replacement of the managers of the Public Property Agency. Some weren’t probably sufficiently loyal and didn’t react to the first call to do as they were told to”.
Veaceslav Negruța concluded that another half of the country could be sold through offshores before the presidential elections of this yearend so that someone could secure the political comfort for the next four years.
