Veaceslav Negruta: Any initiative of Ministry is fulfilled according to law

Minister of Finance Veaceslav Negruta, who was accused officially in the Sandulachi case, denied the accusations made against him by the prosecutors. He said the institution that he heads didn’t break the law, but fulfilled a court order, Info-Prim Neo reports. “The implementation of a court order based on a decision that became definitive cannot be considered abuse of power. They rumored that the decision is not final, but this is not true. It is the court decision that should be examined. I didn’t make this decision public out of respect for the investigation bodies. I behaved correctly throughout this investigation. I think this document should bring the intimidations to an end,” the minister said after Wednesday’s meeting of the Government. Veaceslav Negruta described the accusations made against him as political blackmail, saying any initiative that comes from the Ministry of Finance is fulfilled in strict compliance with the law. The minister is accused of paying considerable damages to former MP Pantelei Sandulachi in the absence of a definitive court decision. Sandulachi received damages of €400,000 for the delay in examining a criminal case.
