“The Communists brought the country close to a failure. There is no money even for pensions for the last two months. Moldova’s major problem is now poverty, which should be eradicated immediately,” the Liberal-Democratic MP, professor Veaceslav Ionita has told Info-Prim Neo. The MP said that during the Communist government, Moldova had witnessed the genocide of its people. “The Communists are bureaucrats that shift from office to office during their entire lives and do not know how the ordinary people live. “The new political class represents the people and their moral principles, knows the people’s problems and wants to solve them as soon as possible,” Ionita said. The MP urges the Communists to apologize to the people who are in despair on the knees. “How can one be rich in such a poor country? How can one be happy in a country where a future mother aged 22 lives in a village on 54 lei a month, which is the pension of her invalid husband,” Ionita asked. The major objectives of the new political class that will hold the majority in the Parliament are: to reopen talks with the international financial institutions, to reestablish the relations with the United States, Romania and the developed neighboring countries, to immediately implement projects that will considerably change the quality of people’s lives. “We will take actions that will produce results the next year, but we also plan actions that will be completed in 2-3 months and the society will realize that the new politicians keep their words.” Speaking about the relations with Romania, the MP said that the visas imposed illegally will be lifted without delay because thousands of people were affected and over 200 joint Moldovan-Romanian companies stopped work as a result of this illegal Government decision. He considers that the persons responsible for the fact that this decision is still in effect must be held accountable. “Romania is a donor country for the United Nations and the aid should reach Moldova.” The MP of the PLDM said that the new political class will work transparently so that the people know what the politicians do, and will involve the mass media, which will be free, in this process. Ionita said that during the Communist government the people were provided with news from the future, but from now on all the news stories will be from the present. “The people will have the possibility of permanently seeing the objective reality about the good things done for them by the new political class,” the MP said.
