The term for reimbursing the VAT could be decreased, according to the assessments of the authors of the new draft regulations on the refunding of the value added tax approved by the Government, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Minister of Finance Veaceslav Negruta said the problems about which the VAT payers complained appeared mainly because the decisions to refund the VAT were taken by specially created commissions. These commissions included many persons whose duties were not clearly defined and the examination of the decisions was delayed. Under the new regulations, the decisions to refund the VAT will be taken by the heads or deputy heads of the local subdivisions of the Tax Service (in Chisinau by the head of the Big Taxpayers Division).
The fact that there will be created no commissions and the elimination of some of the documents asked from companies earlier will lead to the reduction in the VAT refunding term from 45 to 35 days, the minister said.
