The renowned man of culture, talented writer and just an admirable man, Vasile Vasilache, has been buried today. The coffin was laid for farewell in the hall of the Writers Union's House. The Writers Union's president Mihai Cimpoi has said that Vasile Vasilache has left a wide gap in Moldova's culture that it will never be filled again. A servant of the Romanian language and culture, a man of extraordinary verticality, having the nation's aesthetic and moral conscience, the big writer Vasile Vasilache has been a fighter in the public life, a builder of truth. The leader of Moldova Noastra Alliance, Serafim Urecheanu, has said the writer's death has grieved all the living on this land, grown and educated by the work of Vasile Vasilache, through gentility, verticality, love for the nation and intelligence. “Vasile Vasilache has been a refined intellectual, a soul fascinated by everything meaning authentic culture, a distinct friend, discreet and elegant, who has always radiated spiritual warmth,” the writer Serafim Saca said in tears. The writer Spiridon Vangheli has said Vasile Vasilache has not only been a big writer, but also a father, grandfather and grand-grandfather who has educated all the Vasilache family to labor for the prosperity of the Romanian literature and language. Vangheli called Vasile Vasilache as the second Ion Creanga of the nation. The schoolmistress of Vasile Vasilache lycee has said the pupils and teachers of school taking his name but recently are sorry for the writer passing away and will keep the word not to mar his name. Hundreds of people, writers, actors, directors, journalists, friends, parliamentarians laid flower to the coffin holding the tired body of the writer. “The writer has left an impressive work and will set examples for the new generations serving the Romanian language and culture because he wrote good books, has made good people from those four children of his,” people paying the last honors were saying. Vasile Vasilache has been buried in the Central Cemetery on Armeneasca street in Chisinau.
