The former October 20 presidential election candidate Vasile Tarlev calls on the citizens to vote against Maia Sandu, who is contending in the presidential election runoff. According to the ex-prime minister, the election results, falsifications and administrative pressure exerted on election contestants increased the people’s negative attitude towards the current government, IPN reports.

According to the leader of the Party for the Future of Moldova, the country's leadership has shown its incapacity to manage the economic situation in the country, leaving it on the verge of a socioeconomic collapse and immersed in corruption. The phenomenon of migration of young people abroad is alarming.

"We call on all the citizens of Moldova to cast a decisive vote against Maia Sandu in the second round of voting. This is the crucial moment to eliminate the source of the problems, which block the country's development," Vasile Tarlev posted on his Facebook page.

Also, Vasile Tarlev and his team seek the resignation of the members of the Central Election Commission. The politician said that the National Political Council of the Party for the Future of Moldova on October 25 discussed the serious irregularities, manipulation and misinformation that marked the election.

"After the analysis carried out, we established the priorities for the runoff election and voted unanimously in favor of the resignation of the Central Election Commission, proposing the formation of a new institution that would include representatives of all former election contestants. We learned a lesson from the election and set clear goals for the future. Moldova needs people with patriotism and dignity, and the citizens deserve a happy future," concluded the former premier.

Vasile Tarlev gained 3.19% of the poll in the October 20 presidential election.
