The patent holders will benefit from state support to easier pass the period of transition to independent activity, said PAS MP Vasile Grădinaru. He assured that the patent holders will benefit from 10,000 lei to purchase cash registers. According to the MP, trade based on patent does not obey consumer rights as a sales slip is not offered and the persons who are not satisfied with the purchased goods or services cannot file complaints, IPN reports.

Vasile Grădinaru said that trade based on the entrepreneur’s patent allows for tax evasion. The government’s priority is to do away with the underground economy.

“I have worked based on patent for about ten years and I know all the aspects not from the press, but from reality. Trade based on patent is intended for private individuals who run a very small business and the difference between them and business entities was the fact that they didn’t use cash registers. This thing somehow simplified economic activity. On the other hand, it leaves two huge gaps. It goes to the violation of consumer rights as the consumer didn’t have a receipt or another document to confirm the purchase of products from the patent holder and could not submit a complaint in accordance with the law on consumer rights. The second aspect is that they resorted to tax evasion through patents,” Vasile Grădinaru stated in the program “Reflection Points” on Vocea Basarabiei channel.

The MP assured that the state will not abandon the citizens to cover themselves all the costs associated with the switchover to independent activity. The government will cover the price of the cash register and other investments used to reequip the workplace in the amount of up to 10,000 lei through the agency of the Organization for Entrepreneurship Development.

“Interaction between the state and the former private individual who will now practice independent activity will occur once a year, when the person will submit tax returns. These persons were exempted from presenting particular statements and all the information will be processed by the Tax Inspectorate,” said the PAS MP.

As from July 1, trade based on patent will be banned. The persons who retail at kiosks, stalls and through pushcarts need to switch over to
independent activity.
