Vasile Coroi is the new ombudsman for children’s rights. He was voted in by Parliament on Friday, IPN reports.
Fifty-three MPs voted in favor of Vasile Coroi. He was appointed for a seven-year term that cannot be renewed. He replaced Maia Bănărescu whose tenure expired in April.
Vsile Coroi until now served as the head of the Prisoners Pardoning Commission under the President. Earlier, he headed the Information and Documentation Center on the Rights of the Child of Moldova.
