The Parliament’s legal commission for appointments and immunities will propose ex-minister Vasile Botnari for director of the Security and Intelligence Service (SIS) for a term of five years in one of the legislature’s next sittings, IPN reports.
Vasile Botnari was fielded by a group of MPs and was approved of by the legal commission and by the commission on national security, defense and public order.
Under the law, the SIS director should be nominated by at least ten MPs.
