Vasile Belous was named the best boxer in Moldova for the second consecutive year. Petru Caduc’s pupil won bronze at the 2017 European Championships, IPN reports.
Belous reached the semifinals of the European Boxing Championships of Kharkov after beating Poland’s Tadeus Kiwior 3-2, but then lost to Germany’s Abass Baraou 0-5.
Vasile Belous, of the Grimancauti boxing school, was the only boxer who represented Moldova at the Olympic Games of 2012 and was the closest to qualify for the 2016 Olympics.
Dorin Bucsa from Hancesti, who medaled bronze at the European Under-22 Boxing Championships of Romania, was named the best boxer younger than 22.
