The Romanian language is an identity symbol of the Republic of Moldova, together with the flag, coat of arms and anthem, Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet said in the festive meeting of the General Assembly of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, dedicated to the National Holiday “Our Language”, IPN reports.
“It is equally a care of all those involved in the studying and promotion of the Romanian language. We think that the National Terminology Center, which should form part of the Academy of Sciences, plays a special role in the process of ultimately bringing the Romanian language home. As a result of transformations, improvements and reorganization, this Center will definitely contribute to the remedying of the linguistic situation in Moldova,” stated the Premier.
On the occasion of the National Holiday “Our Language”, the country’s administration laid flowers at the monument to Ruler Stephan the Great and Holy and at the busts from the Classical Writers Alley. A concert was given in the Great National Assembly Square of Chisinau.
