The Republic of Moldova is a captive state and such a diagnosis was made by the development partners themselves. Captive state means that the state institutions, which are maintained with taxpayers’ money and which should fight the corruption that flourishes in this country, no longer belong to the stat. The government does nothing but undermine the law and recruit new members who are blackmailable, the member of the Political Bureau of the Liberal Reformist Party, ex-MP Valeriu Saharneanu said in the public debate “Re-forming of anticorruption system: necessities and realities. SCOs’ statement “Simulation of reformation of the justice and anticorruption system in Moldova”, which was organized by IPN together with Radio Moldova.

Valeriu Saharneanu noted that to change something in the country, the rulers should stop promoting the narrow interests of party leaders. “For veritable re-formation, we need political will and each of those who come to power need to respect the Constitution and to show courage and express their dissatisfaction with the acts of corruption and wrongdoings,” he stated.

According to the former MP, the purgatory of elections is a solution, but these should take place simultaneously with the freeing of the captive state institutions. Re-forming the existent political parties by excluding the discredited persons from them is also a solution. The Republic of Moldova is now the state with the most coward political system that robbed its people. The current power is no longer legitimate and society should resort to the most drastic legal measures to remove it.

The public debate “Re-forming of anticorruption system: necessities and realities. SCOs’ statement “Simulation of reformation of the justice and anticorruption system in Moldova” is the 47th installment of the series of debates “Developing political culture by public debates” that are supported by the Hanns Seidel Foundation.
