The Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement (DCFTA) will take effect three months earlier than planned, this autumn. Thus, it will have to be implemented at a high pace, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar said, referring to the preparation of the implementation agenda. The Ministry of Economy staged a meeting with national producers in order to inform them about the new commercial regime and the internal market reforms that are to be done, IPN reports.

Valeriu Lazar said the draft Combined Nomenclature is to be approved in a Government meeting in the near future. It includes the tariff positions and customs duties harmonized with the EU’s positions and duties and will take effect on January 1, 2015.

The draft plan of action for implementing the Association Agreement and the DCFTA and other related documents were presented for public debates. About 300 European directives are to be transposed to the national legislation as regards the Free Trade Agreement with the EU alone.

Valeriu Lazar asked the associations of producers to assist in the bilateral consultations with Russian specialist that will take place in Chisinau on June 9-10, and to submit proposals for improving the documents worked out by the public authorities.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the programs to support and enhance the competitiveness of Moldovan exporters were finished and will start to be implemented soon, with the support of the development partners.
