Big salaries don’t fall from the sky; they depend on the technologies used and staff training. The statement was made by Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar at the official celebration of “Ungheni-Business” Free Trade Zone’s 10th anniversary, reports Info-Prim Neo.
“The development model of these zones follows the model of the economic paradigm that we want to implement throughout Moldova, meaning innovative technologies, new workplaces with competitive salaries, production and exports”, stated Valeriu Lazar. The Minister of Economy emphasized that the production with high added value and the high productivity of employees are the elements needed for salary increases.
In this context, the Minister of Economy highlighted that the enterprises’ fundamental duty is to produce and create workplaces. “Ungheni-Business” spreads over 42 hectares and currently has 37 residents. The investments to the “Ungheni-Business” Free Trade Zone rise to $36.5 million, ranking second after Chisinau among investment attractors.
There are seven free trade zones in Moldova, one free trade port in Giurgiulesti, and one free trade airport at Marculesti. Total investments to these zones, at the end of the first quarter of 2012, rose to $145 million.
