Valentina Nafornita deserves title of People’s Artist, Dorin Chirtoaca

Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca requested his colleagues from the City Hall to file an application to the Presidential Office and ask that soprano Valentina Nafornita should be conferred the title of People’s Artist, Info-Prim Neo reports. Dorin Chirtoaca said that he knows personally Valentina Nafornita and the success she achieved should be praised. “We all saw Valentina Nafornita’s extraordinary performance in Vienna. I don’t know if she has a title, but she definitely deserves one, especially of People’s Artist,” said the mayor. Dorin Chirtoaca also spoke about Sofia Rotaru, saying that she deserves becoming a Citizen of Honor of Chisinau, especially because she sang the anthem of Chisinau. “Both the author of the verses Gheorghe Voda and the author of the music Eugen Doga are Citizens of Honor.
