The Moldovan Greco-Roman wrestler Valentin Petic won a bronze medal at the Junior World Championships, which took place in the Estonian capital Tallinn.
Petic had a streak of four victories in the 67 kg category before being defeated in the quarter-finals by Armenia’s Shant Khachatryan, who went on to become a finalist. In the battle for the third place on the podium, Valentin Petic prevailed over Turkey’s Abdul Samet Basar.
Moldovan junior wrestlers have netted four medals in total at the Championships in Tallinn, with Vasile Diacon and Anastasia Nichita taking silver, and Maria Leorda getting bronze.
