Moldova’s Greco-Roman wrestler Valentin Petic has qualified for the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games, IPN reports.
He clinched four victories at the qualifying tournament in Istanbul, in the 67kg weight category, against Croatia’s Dominik, Egypt’s Mohamed Ibrahim Ibrahi, Switzerland’s Andreas Vetsch and Germany’s Etienne Kinsinger.
The Republic of Moldova currently has 11 athletes qualified for the Paris Olympic Games. These are: Anastasia Nikita, Irina Rîngaci, Victor Ciobanu, Valentin Petic (all – wrestling), Sergey Tarnovschi, Daniela Cociu, Maria Olărașu (all – canoe), Dan Olaru (archery), Alisa Glinka (horse riding), Anna Dulce (shooting), and Marin Robu (weightlifting).
