In two weeks, households in the village of Valeni, Cahul district, will be connected to a permanent water supply system fed by two artesian wells. This has been made possible thanks to a project supported by the National Environmental Fund, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Valeni Mayor Silvia Stirbet said the 2 million lei project helped to dig two artesian wells and install 8 kilometers of water pipes.
A separate 1.6 million lei project financed by the World Bank through the project implementing division of the Environment Ministry enabled the rehabilitation of another artesian well and the construction of further 17 kilometers of piping.
Until now the people in Valeni have fetched water from their household or neighborhood wells or from an artesian well put into service two years ago with the financial support of the US Embassy.
