Works to reconstruct the famous granite stairway in Chisinau’s Valea Morilor Park have been resumed last week. At present, the reconstruction is roughly 60% completed and is expected to be finalized by July, IPN reports.
The Mayor’s Office says in a press release that rainwater drains are currently being installed and final preparations are being made before granite slabs are laid into steps.
The reconstruction of the granite stairways started in June 2018 thanks to a 19 million lei grant offered by the local government of Bucharest’s Sector 1. The Chisinau municipality only contributes 5% of the total project value.
