The second edition of the Vadul-lui-Woodstock Live Music Festival will take place on August 11-12 in the town of Vadul lui Voda. This year’s edition of the festival is themed “Music for Peace”. Sergiu Ostaf, director of the Resource Centre for Human Rights (CREDO) and one of the organisers, told today a press conference that this live music festival is an opportunity to manifest a spirit of dialogue and a solid relationship between the inhabitants from the two sides of the Nistru River. 20 bands from Moldova, Romania, Ukraine and Russia will perform at the festival. The jury will award the two best bands each a guitar printed with messages of peace. For this edition, a special hymn was composed which will be sang by the participants at the end of the festival. During the second day of the event an interactive session of promoting social ideas through music will also take place. Vadul-lui-Woodstock 2007 is organised by ARTcord Association, CREDO, with support from OSCE Mission to Moldova. The first edition took place in 2006. This year, the organisers aim at strengthening the dialogue between the artists from both banks of the river, by using the international language of music.
