Vadul lui Voda town may become a municipality. President Vladimir Voronin spoke in this regard at a working sitting, Info-Prim Neo learns from the presidential press service. “The proposal to confer the status of a municipality to Vadul lui Voda, which now is part of a district of Chisinau municipality, consists in the need to fully use its huge economic potential,” the president said. Vladimir Voronin referred to the large tourism capacities of the area, adding they were not fully used. According to the communique, representatives of the local public administration opine that changing Vadul lui Voda's status will create real opportunities to boost the process of social-economic development of that area. Vladimir Voronin has asked to draft a program of social-economic development of the town, stressing the consolidation of its economic and tourism potential.
