The deputy head of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) Vadim Pistrinciuc does not abandon the idea of mounting protests if the November 30 elections are won by forces that will impede the European integration process. He made the statement in a program on TVC 21 channel, IPN reports.

The heavyweight of the PLDM noted that he does not speak in the name of the party he represents. “I do not say it about the whole party. I personally will take to the street if the elections are won by the anti-European parties. I will not allow discrediting the European idea. This is the idea of most of the people. It is the idea of the energetic and working section of the population. The people already saw the effects of the European integration. You cannot take away from the people something that they need. The case of Yanukovych is convincing in this case,” stated Pistrinciuc.

He underlined that geographically, culturally, linguistically and historically, Moldova is part of the EU. “Why should somebody prevent us from following this course? Russia has friends all over Europe, why shouldn’t we have? We must not ask the Russians with whom we should be friends,” stated the deputy head of the PLDM.

He expressed his optimism that the pro-European parties will win the November 30 elections. He said that if the PLDM does not gain a majority of seats in Parliament, it will form a coalition with the pro-European parties. “We do not exclude a coalition with the Democratic Party and the Liberal Party or with any other parliamentary party that will have the same option as we. Anyway, a coalition with the Communists is excluded. They are not credible and change their options every day,” stated Pistrinciuc.
