Vadim Dimitrov eliminated in second round of World Taekwondo Championship

Wrestler Vadim Dimitrov is the first Moldovan who entered the competitions of the World Taekwondo Championship that is taking place in Russia’s Chelyabinsk, IPN reports.

After beating Bulgaria’s Stanislav Staikov 9-2, Vadim Dimitrov lost to Nutthawee Klompong of Thailand 5-6. Ninety athletes competed in the up to 58 kg class.

At the competitions in Chelyabinsk, Moldova will also be represented by Stepan Dimitrov (54 kg class), Andrei Rotaru (63 kg), Vladislav Arventi (68 kg) and Aaron Cook (80 kg). The championship brought together athletes from 130 countries.
