Controversial statements are made about the delivery of gas to the Transnistrian region. The interim director of Moldovagaz Vadim Ceban said that Moldovagaz is the only company that can deliver gas to the Transnistrian region, according to the contract signed with Gazprom. He stressed that he was surprised by the statements made by the Transnistrian leader Vadim Krasnoselsky, who said that Russia would soon supply gas to the region, IPN reports.
Two days ago, following a visit to Moscow, the separatist leader Vadim Krasnoselsky announced that Russia would resume gas supplies to the Transnistrian region in the form of humanitarian aid, and the volumes delivered will be sufficient for the consumption of citizens and for the operation of enterprises.
"Based on the five-year contract signed in 2021, only Moldovagaz has the right to supply gas to Tiraspoltransgaz. We have no communication and this seems strange to us because we are not involved in this process. We were also surprised by Mr. Krasnoselsky's statements. We have not had any notification from either Gazprom or Tiraspoltransgaz," the interim chairman of the Board of Directors of Moldovagaz stated in the program "The Shadow Cabinet" on Jurnal TV.
Vadim Ceban explained that, as the founder of Tiraspoltransgaz, Moldovagaz requested the framework gas supply agreement between Natural Gaz DC and Tiraspoltransgaz. However, according to him, Tiraspoltransgaz invoked the fact that the document is confidential.
"We asked to be presented with that framework agreement. So far, we have not received it. We were told that it was a confidential one. Moldovagaz is the only company that can supply gas to the Transnistrian region, based on the agreement signed with Gazprom. We also took steps. Back on January 2, we proposed to Tiraspoltransgaz to supply them with gas purchased from the market. This is exactly what we now see that they want to do" said the interim director of Moldovagaz.
Two days ago, businessman Arcadie Vicol, the owner of Natural Gaz DC, confirmed that he signed a framework agreement for the delivery of natural gas with Tiraspoltransgaz. According to him, the gas to be supplied to the Transnistrian region will be bought on European exchanges.
