Vadim Branzan, who wanted to run for President in the upcoming elections, but failed to collect the necessary number of signatures from supporters, called on the voters to support the joint candidate of the center-right Maia Sandu. In a news conference at IPN, Vadim Branzan said Maia Sandu is the only candidate who hasn’t been involved in all kinds of schemes aimed at robbing the country and who does not pursue own goals and is preoccupied with people’s welfare.

“I express my support and the support of my initiative group that collected signatures in my favor for the joint candidate of the anti-oligarchic opposition Maia Sandu. We are convinced that a common candidate has more chances,” stated Vadim Branzan.

He noted that Andrei Nastase, who withdrew from the race for the presidency in favor of Maia Sandu, set a historical precedent in Moldova, which is worth being followed as a politician put the country’s interests above everything.

Vadim Branzan called upon the people to vote on October 30 and to think about the country’s future before voting and not to choose candidates who have formed part of the government and robbed the country, who promise that Moldova will enter the European Union the next day or that a new Soviet Union will be created. He said Maia Sandu is the only honest candidate who showed that she didn’t work to gain wealth and does not intend to do so.

“We now have the chance not to choose the lesser evil. We have a really good candidate, who is an honest person and a highly-rated professional. So, let’s support Maia Sandu in elections as we will start the process of removing the current corrupt system this way,” said Vadim Branzan.

He also made a call to those from the diaspora. “Those who are abroad see it clearly who is honest and who is a ‘wolf’ (Moldovan ‘lup’ – e.n.) that hides under a lamb skin. With a part of the euros, dollars or rubles that you send to your relatives in Moldova, the current oligarchs, the so-called businessman who captured the state, maintain and develop their businesses by illegal schemes in all the spheres of the Moldovan economy: telecommunications, energy, banks, etc. Together with you, we maintain a group of politicians,” he stated.

Maiei Sandu is the joint candidate for the office of President of Moldova of the Party “Action and Solidary”, which she heads, the Party “Platform Dignity and Truth” and the Liberal Democratic Party. Several other center-right parties expressed their support for this candidate.
