A COVID-19 vaccination point was opened at the Chisinau International Airport. During the first weeks, the new immunization center will work daily, between 8aqm and 9pm, while later depending on the number of persons willing to get a vaccine, IPN reports.

Denis Cernelea, secretary of state at the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection, said the vaccination point at the airport provides three types of COVID-19 vaccines: Johnson&Johnson, AstraZeneca and Pfizer. In Moldova, the persons are vaccinated if they are aged 18 and up.

The functionary called on the people to get vaccinated. The Delta variant of the virus, called also the Indian variant, was detected in the Republic of Moldova and this is two times more contiguous than the Alpha variant. All the prevention measures, including mask wearing, should be further obeyed.

According to Denis Cernelea, about 100,000 doses of vaccine against SARS-CoV-2 were administered the last seven days and the number of immunized persons rises daily.
