The vaccination against flu of people from increased infection risk groups begins next week. The flu vaccine will be administered to medical personnel, customs employees, children from boarding schools and people from old people’s homes. The information was confirmed to IPN by Anatolie Melnic, head of the immunization section of the National Public Health Center.
According to Anatolie Melnic, the flu shots will be distributed in accordance with the requests that came from settlements. The persons who form part of the increased infection risk groups will be immunized at the local medical units.
The other people are vaccinated at immunization centers in Chisinau and in other settlements for money. A flu shot costs 250 lei
The vaccine was homologated in Moldova. Its antigenic composition meets the one recommended by the World Health Organization for the 2013 – 2014 flu spread risk season for the northern hemisphere.
