“Nicolae Testemițanu” State University of Medicine and Pharmacy (USMF), the Technical University of Moldova (UTM) and the Moldova State University (USM) are ranked among the top universities in Moldova, IPN reports, with reference to the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities.
According to the international report, the ranking also includes by the Moldova Free International University (ULIM), "Alecu Russo" State University of Balti (USARB) and the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova (ASEM).
The Webometrics Ranking, published annually in January and July, evaluates universities based on online visibility, transparency, and academic excellence. The number of external links to institutions' websites, Google Scholar academic citations and works published in leading scientific journals are taken into account.
The Webometrics Ranking has been created since 2004 by a research group within the Spanish Higher Council for Scientific Research.
