The pro-rector for international relations at the Moldova State University (USM) Aurelia Hanganu was named director general of the National Agency for Research and Development (NARD) for a four-year term. A decision to this effect was approved by the Cabinet on Wednesday, IPN reports.
Aurelia Hanganu is a doctor habilitate of philology. In 2013-2019, she worked as general scientific secretary at the Academy of Sciences of Moldova.
In the same meeting, the Cabinet designated Viorica Țîmbalari as director general of the National Agency for the Prevention and Combating of Violence against Women and Domestic Violence. She will take up her duties on January 2, 2024.
Viorica Țîmbalari is a bachelor or law and a master of European studies. She cooperated with governmental and nongovernmental organizations in the promotion of the rights of women and children who are victims of domestic violence. She also has experience in offering legal assistance to female victims of violence from the diaspora.
