USM community celebrates Folk Costume

Representatives of the 11 faculties and research institutes of the Moldova State University (USM) participated in an impressive Parade of the Folk Costume. Among the participants were teachers, students, parents, graduates and guests of honor, including the USM rector Igor Sharov and state secretary of the Department for Relations with the Republic of Moldova of the Romanian Government Adrian Dupu, IPN reports.

“I was glad to be this year again, with academics and students, at this celebration of our traditional costume that promotes this symbol of the Romanian traditions. At the same time, the class leaders of the USM faculties were awarded, and the Department for Relations with the Republic of Moldova contributed this year too their awarding. Romania thus continues to support performance in education as well as the promotion of our common traditions,” said Adrian Dupu.

The USM noted that this holiday is meant to promote and transmit the love for the national cultural heritage, thus paying tribute to the folk costume.

Another important and emotional moment was the awarding of the 54 students, class leaders, who achieved high performance and who will surely become top professionals on the labor market.

The awardees thanked the USM teachers, who were their model and guides in their professional training. “Congratulations dear graduates, you are the pride of the USM!”.

The event continued with a concert held by the choreographic ensemble “Struguraș”, students of the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Moldova State University and the ethnofolkloric group “Crenguță de Iederă”, who invited the participants to dance.
