The president of Our Party Renato Usatyi, in a news conference on September 11, said that he was put on the wanted list without the INTERPOL Central Bureau in Lyon being notified of this, IPN reports.
According to him, representatives of the Russian law enforcement agencies, by order of Igor Dodon, abusively put his name in the international database of wanted persons by an informal procedure, using thus this body for political purposes. “Representatives of the Russian law enforcement agencies, without the consent of the INTERPOL Central Bureau and the General Secretariat headquartered in Lyon, added an arrest warrant that jurists call “diffusion” to the database. What does this mean? Usually, when an investigation is ongoing and there is evidence, any country that pursues a person asks the INTERPOL Central Bureau in Lyon to issue Red Notices that some call simply arrest. Everything is done through the agency of INTERPOL. The documents are exclaimed and then INTERPOL takes a decision,” explained Renato Usatyi.
He described the measure as abusive and illegal and noted that his lawyers in London will issue an official notification to the Secretariat General in Lyon so that the wanted announcement is urgently removed from the database. Dodon and his partners in Moscow are making a desperate attempt to give him a blow ahead of the election campaign.
“I regret that the illegal use of “diffusion”, by avoiding notifying the INTERPOL Central Bureau in Lyon, puts Russia in an extremely bad light. I said and repeat that I have no objections to the country,” stated the politician.
In a press release, Our Party reminds that earlier INTERPOL refused to issue an international arrest warrant against Renato Usatyi for the reason that the request was politically motivated.
