The leader of the “Our” Party Renato Usatyi called upon the political parties and representatives of civil society to take part in the last meeting of the current Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) on May 14 as the councilors are to allow a number of plots owned by the municipality to be sold for sums that are tens of times lower than their real value in this meeting, IPN reports.
In a news conference, Renato Usatyi said that the given plots are sold at derisory prices to companies affiliated to the Liberal Party for erecting apartment buildings on them. The biggest theft in the history of Chisinau municipality will be committed tomorrow and the prosecutor general and the National Anticorruption Center director should thus become involved.
The “Our” Party’s candidate for the mayoralty of Chisinau Ilian Casu said the thefts, crimes and illegalities in Chisinau must be stopped. What will happen tomorrow in the CMC’s meeting is a regrettable practice used since Serafim Urechean was a mayor, when decisions that gathered dust are adopted on the last 100 meters.
Casu noted he possesses information that a storehouse is to be built in the square behind the National Museum of Art in Chisinau, but those from the “Our” Party suspect that a hotel or a restaurant will be actually constructed there.
