Renato Usatîi’s Our Party will participate in the general local elections, to be held on October 20, as decided by the party’s National Council on Tuesday.
The party said in a press release that in the near future its local organizations will convene to discuss reorganization and measures to address its staff-related issues. Candidates for mayors and councilors will be proposed.
The National Council unanimously approved Renato Usatîi’s initiative to dismiss all the vice presidents of the party until an extraordinary congress is held after the local elections to elect replacements.
“After the fall of the Plahotniuc regime, a new era has emerged in Moldova. The fear that has crippled political activity must be eliminated forever,” reads the press statement.
Our Party was officially launched in April 2014 after Renato Usatîi took over Nicolae Andronic’s People’s Republican Party.
