US visa lottery results available online. Beware of crooks!

The results of the US visa lottery will be available online until June 30, 2012. The status of the participant can be checked at http://www.dvlottery.state.gov, according to a press release from the US Embassy in Chisinau, Info-Prim Neo reports. The diplomatic mission informs that in order to check the status, one must introduce the code from the DV-2012 confirmation page, saved after filling in the participation form. The code contains 16 characters, letters or numbers, like 20126O0DZWY3DOV9. Participants should avoid confusing the letter "O" with the number "0". "If you have been selected, a list of instructions will appear explaining what you need to do next. Please follow the instructions carefully. If you have lost your confirmation code, you will not be able to check your DV entry status. There is no way to recover your lost confirmation code", reads the press statement. The embassy warns that the US Government never notifies the winners of Diversity Visa Lottery by email. Participants shouldn't pay any money if are requested so through an email. "Don't trust e-mails and letters asking money from you. The ONLY possible way to check if you were selected is to visit http://www.dvlottery.state.gov", reads the statement.
