As part of the United States’ long-term commitment to the citizens of the Republic of Moldova, the U.S. Agency for International Development will offer Moldova $1.2 million in health assistance.
The assistance will help prepare laboratory systems, activate case-finding and event-based surveillance, support technical experts for response and preparedness, bolster risk communication, and more, IPN reports.
In a press release, the U.S. Embassy in Moldova says this COVID-19 assistance builds upon U.S. investments of nearly $42 million in health assistance and more than $1 billion in total assistance over the past 20 years.
