34 U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer trainees will teach English and a health protection course in schools in Moldova. The volunteers will work in Moldova for two years, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the press service of the U.S. Embassy in Moldova. The volunteers arrived in Moldova on June 11 and took their oaths two days ago after completing a Romanian language and culture course. At the Swearing-In Ceremony, the Charge D’affaires at the U.S. Embassy Marcus Micheli said that “our peoples will become better as a result of this dedication.” There are 130 Peace Corps volunteers in Moldova at present. They work as part of four projects: Rural Business Development, Community and Organizational Development, English Teaching and Education for Health in School and Community. In 2009, the U.S. Peace Corps trained 59 volunteers to work in Moldova.
