Experts in testing the professional integrity of employees of the U.S. law enforcement bodies will pay a visit to Chisinau at the beginning of next year. While in Chisinau, they will make recommendations for diminishing the corruption-related risks and will give training courses in corruption combating, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to a communiqué from the Prosecutor General’s Office, such an agreement was reached in a meeting of Prosecutor General Valeriu Zubco with the representatives of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Christopher Pater and Glen Comesanas, who are in Chisinau on a fact-finding visit.
During the week, the experts will assess the necessity of giving integrity tests to employees of the National Anticorruption Center. Given that the Prosecutor’s Office is playing the main role in this process, the prosecutor being the person who authorizes the initiation of the integrity tests for the Center’s employees, the experts inquired about the institution’s view on the issue.
Confirming the United States’ firm support for the reforming option of the Moldovan law enforcement bodies, the U.S. officials expressed readiness to become involved in the process of developing the partnership, says the communiqué.
