The United States Embassy in Chisinau on its website has posted a demonstration alert in connection with the parliamentary elections scheduled for February 24, IPN reports.
The Embassy noted that as in the past, large public demonstrations are likely to occur after the elections. Even peaceful demonstrations can turn dangerous at any time. Large public gatherings can affect traffic in the city.
The Embassy recommends avoiding the areas of the demonstrations and monitoring local media for updates. It warns that traffic delays and road closures should be expected.
