U.S. Embassy announces Grants Competition for Independent Media

The Embassy of the United States of America announces an open grants competition for independent media in Moldova, IPN reports.

According to a press release of the U.S. Embassy, there are welcomed projects related to the following priorities: free flow of information, freedom of speech, transparency in government and good governance; non-biased/balanced reporting, pluralisms of opinions, diversity of views; promoting Euro-Atlantic values, European integration and free trade, etc.

Projects can also include institutional development costs, equipment, studio décor, staff training. The award period is up to 12 months. The U.S. Embassy will consider projects totaling up to $50,000.

Applicants must submit the standard application form and the CVs of the implementation team electronically. The application form must be submitted electronically to moldovagrants@state.gov before Friday, August 1, 2014, 15:59 (Moldova time).
