A delegation of the United States is paying a working visit to Moldova to familiarize itself with the utility of the American investments, including on the border, IPN reports.
In a press release, the Border Police says the U.S. partners were presented the service’s equipment, units of transport used by mobile teams, border surveillance and examination devices. There was simulated an attempt to smuggle nuclear materials.
Besides other initiatives supported by the U.S. Embassy, the Border Police benefit from two major assistance projects: the Program for Identifying and Preventing Nuclear Smuggling Cases and the Project “Weapons of Mass Destruction – Prevention and Proliferation Program”.
