Urgent issuance of civil status documents to cost more

The urgent issuance of civil status documents will cost 30- 40 % more. At the same time, the list of civil status services offered free will get more items. From now on, the registration of the newborns will be done for free, Info-Prim Neo reports. Pavel Buceatchi, the Informational Development Minister has told a news conference it is for the first time when the list of charges and services provided by the civil status services is approved of by a Governmental decision and by the minister's order. According to the decision of the Government, the Civil Status Service will provide 13 services for free, while its territorial office – 24. The charges for the paid services provided normally, e.g. issuing a birth certificate, a marriage certificate (30 days) or copies (25 days), will remain unchanged . Lucia Ciobanu, the chief of the Civil Status Service, says, recently, a new paid service has been launched – issuing the civil status certificate in 12 languages. It may presented in 19 countries. The cost of issuance in normal regime is 50 lei, and in urgent regime – 500 lei. Lucia Ciobanu says 9 categories of citizens shall not pay for civil status services. They the disabled of 1st, 2nd and 3rd degree, veterans, pensioners, parents with 3 and more children, orphan children, participating in liquidating consequences of the Chernobyl disaster. The citizens having participated in military conflicts pay only 50%. Also exempted are the citizens asking to correct mistakes committed by the civil status office in registering acts, and the citizens asking for the repeated issuance of death certificates for the rehabilitated relatives to substitute the acts issued previously. The courts, prosecutor's offices and criminal investigating bodies, the custodial authorities will be issued copies and extracts for free, as well as information related to their registration.
