The Transnistrian leader Yevgheny Shevchuk signed a decree to dismiss the local executive. Such a decision was taken because the executive’s head Tatiana Turanskaya was elected as a deputy in the so-called supreme soviet of the region, IPN reports.
Yevgheny Shevchuk decided that the unrecognized government will work on a temporary basis until a new executive is named. He also signed a decree providing that the new so-called supreme soviet will hold its first meeting on December 23.
The legislative ‘elections’ in Transnistria were held on November 29, 2015. Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration issued the embassies with a note saying the so-called elections in Transnistria are illegal and affect the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Moldova, reason for which the representatives of other states and the international organizations are asked to ignore them. A similar call was made by the Central Election Commission to the foreign electoral authorities and election monitoring missions.
