Unpleasant smell emitted by Chisinau Wastewater Treatment Station likely to disappear soon

One third of the mud that has been collected at the Chisinau Wastewater Treatment Station during 40 years remained now on the drying platforms. The other two thirds were taken to special places, the head of Apa-Canal Chisinau Constantin Becciev said at Monday's meeting of the City Hall, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to Becciev, 24 hectares of land have been freed from mud so far. If the weather permits, the other platforms will be cleared in a month or so and the unpleasant smell will disappear. In another development, the head of the Chisinau water supplier said a thief of sewage well lids was caught in Chisinau last week. Over 10,000 lids to the value of 4 million lei have been stolen in Chisinau during the last ten years.
