Last night, an unmanned aerial vehicle violated Moldovan airspace. The information was confirmed by the Defense Ministry.

According to the cited source, the unauthorized flight was detected and monitored by the airspace monitoring systems of the National Army, IPN reports.

The case was recorded shortly after midnight. The aircraft flew the following route: Pavlivca, Ukraine - Carmanova commune - Maiac city - Grigoriopol. It then left the airspace of the Republic of Moldova on the same trajectory.

This is not the first case of unauthorized overflights over Moldovan airspace. Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, several missiles and drones have violated the airspace over Moldova. At the same time, there have been cases when pieces of drones have crashed on Moldovan territory.

The Ministry of Defense has an anti-aircraft radar purchased in 2023, but it is of medium range and is not capable of detecting drones and all types of missiles.
