The National Integrity Authority (NIA) identified unjustified wealth in the case of a public official with special status within the Border Police. It issued an ascertaining document referring to chief officer of the General Border Police Inspectorate Larisa Bivol and her family members, finding that they possess unjustified wealth of almost 500,000 lei, IPN reports.

Based on the document, the case will be sent to court, which is to order the confiscation of the unjustified property. If, following the trial, the NIA decision will remain final and irrevocable, the civil servant with special status will have her employment contract terminated.

The report also presents the point of view of the policewoman concerned, who noted that there is no substantial difference between the income obtained and the expenses incurred by her family, and asked to stop the inspection of their property.
