University diploma holders that graduated before 1995 can apply for doctor’s degree

The university graduates that hold diplomas issued before 1995 can apply for doctoral studies. The admission will take place between September and October according to the regulations concerning the organization and holding of doctoral and post-doctoral studies, published in the Official Gazette, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Under the regulations, the admission contest applies to the holders of master’s degree or licentiate’s degree that have an overall average mark of at least 8.0 and a specialty exam mark of at least 9. Only the persons that work in education establishments or scientific or innovatory institutions can apply for part-time studies.
The applicants for doctoral studies will have to take a specialty exam and a foreign language exam.
The admission of applicants for doctorate, including on a contract basis, is done within the limits of the fixed number of places according to the average mark obtained by the candidates at each specialty in descending order. The doctoral studies begin on November 1.
The regulations say that the full-time doctoral students are provided with scholarship, benefit from a vacation of 30 calendar days and the period of studying for doctorate are included in the length of scientific work.
The full-time studies last for three years, while the part-time studies for four years.
The doctoral studies are organized and held at the higher education establishments and scientific and innovatory institutions accredited by the National Council on Accreditation and Attestation and at the University and Post-University Training Center of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova.
