Admissions to higher education establishments will begin on July 16. Applications shall be submitted by July 31, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Ministry of Education and Youth. The students will be admitted on the basis of the marks they got in the Baccalaureate or secondary school graduation exams. The single admission contest (to budget-funded places and places on contract with tuition fees) will be held this year as well. The applicants will be admitted according to the descending average mark within the limit of the places available at every faculty. The students that will not get a budget-funded place can apply for a place on contract. They will be selected according to the descending average contest mark. The holders of secondary school diploma can also apply to universities. After admitted, they will attend a compensatory one-year course of study and obligatorily take the Baccalaureate exam. Only the students that will pass the Baccalaureate will be promoted to the next year of study. 10% of the university places are available for holders of vocational school diplomas that apply to faculties according to the specialty studied. Besides admission application, the applicants must also submit the school records in original with the relevant annex, a standard medical certificate, first-third degree diplomas won in contests, four photographs 3x4 cm and other documents. The applicants for such a place must present justificatory documents. The applicants that were awarded at national and international Olympiads will benefit from concessions. The holders of first-third degree prizes won at international Olympiads at the school subjects included in the education plan for the last three years can ask to be enrolled at the faculty they want. The awardees of the national contest “Best Student Innovator” and the holders of first-third degree prizes won at national Olympiads will be admitted to the faculty corresponding to the subject at which they were awarded, at request. The contest for Master’s Degree studies includes an oral or written test at the relevant disciplines, tests on competence in foreign language and computer competence.
