The United Arab Emirates (UAE) donated 2,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines to the Republic of Moldova in response to a call made by acting Prime Minister Aureliu Ciocoi to Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the UAE, IPN reports.

Aureliu Ciocoi thanked the authorities in Abu Dhabi for their gesture of solidarity, saying the arrival of the lot of vaccines confirms the friendly and good cooperation relations between the Republic of Moldova and the United Arab Emirates. “The Government of the Republic of Moldova will continue to promote an active dialogue with the foreign partners at bilateral level so as to achieve the strategic objective of ensuring access to COVID-19 vaccines,” runs a press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration.

The Ministry noted that the use of the vaccines will be decided by immunologists and the authorities responsible for managing the vaccination campaign against COVID-19, in accordance with the national immunization plan.

The vaccines were transferred to the national vaccine store and will be dealt with by the National Public Health Agency.
