The Orthopedics and Septic Traumatology Unit of the Emergency Medicine Institute was extensively renovated. The over 3 million lei spent for the purpose was allocated from the mandatory health insurance funds, IPN reports, quoting the Ministry of Health.
According to Veaceslav Cgemyrtan, the head of the renovated Unit, by six patients were earlier admitted to each ward, but now at most three patients will be in one ward. Each ward has systems for negative pressure wound therapy and oxygen systems. The Unit hadn’t been extensively repaired for at least 30 years.
About 750 patients with different complications of the locomotor system following surgery are annually treated at the Orthopedics and Septic Traumatology Unit.
